Lovely location, beautiful hotel. The food in restaurant is incredible but the online menu needs updating because although the menu is small, it doesn't show what is on offer. We had a beautiful duck meal while we were there. Very reasonably priced menu for the area. If you haven't tried the restaurant you should. We have stayed many times now so know the hotel well. We had a lovely lake view room, very comfortable and spacious. Staff are consistently good and know the hotel well. A bit more information is needed in the rooms about what is on offer. Can't wait to come back.

Stayed here with a couple of friends after a day at the races, it was probably the hottest day of the year. Like a lot of old hotels in the UK they could have done with some air con. The hotel itself was a very grand Victorian building, there was a wedding the day before we went and I think this would make a great wedding venue. The staff were really nice and helpful. The room was clean and huge! I would definitely recommend the hotel. I will be coming back with a friend for a few games of golf and will definitely stay here again after the races.

Spent a night and played 2 rounds of golf. The golf course was great and challenging, with the walk to a few tees long. The room was nice, albeit a bit warm, considering there was no temperature control in the room. The service all round was faultless, especially at the bar and the dining room.

Beautiful area. Acres and acres and acres of greenery. Such a nice view to wake up to. Rooms spacious. Bathroom enormous. Pleasantly decorated. Walls very thin. Mattress too soft and pillows flat. Food needs more flavour. And though I'm aware this is subjective. At least when there is a meat on the menu, it should be cooked according to the customer's preference.

Half way through a 2 night break. Warm welcome. Most comfortable room. The bar disappointed us as it was more like the Golf Club House full of load, course, bad mouthed golfers. Not at all nice. The staff were lovely though and meal good Surprised no bar in the main hotel
