Nick gave me a very reasonable quote for the decorating that I needed, and has done a really good job. He has turned up reliably every day and has worked quickly, whilst doing a good job. I will expect to use him again when I next need decorating work.
I contacted Nick to do some work on my property, and I provided a very detailed job spec (PDF) including text descriptions and photos which was sent via WhatsApp. Nick attended the property where my tenant showed him the work to be done. The tenant also mentioned some additional work that I had not authorised or mentioned. I then spoke to Nick on the phone. The call lasted over 10 minutes, but 9 of those minutes was Nick talking and getting angrier and angrier, and insisting that I had not sent him the job details. I pointed out that I had sent a PDF and that he'd read it as indicated in WhatsApp. But he continued to ramble on extensively without letting me speak banging on about how the tenant told him about additional work, etc. I kept trying to state that the only work to do is in the PDF, and he just became more and more emotional and angry and shouty saying that I have to provide him with the full job description by WhatsApp or email, but he just didn't seem to want to stop and listen to me. Had he just stopped and listened, I could have just asked him to open the PDF and it was all there. At the end of the phone call, he told me I'd wasted 10 minutes of his time despite him spending nearly the entire phone winding himself up and ranting the entire time.
